conference in review

April 15th, 2011

Last Sunday the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles hosted their first addictions-focused conference, and it was a wonderful event held up at the American Jewish University on Mulholland. Five seasoned presenters participated in a very full day of experiential demonstration groups, panel discussions and didactic presentations. As the moderator of the event, I felt privileged to witness such passionate professionals carving out a new dialogue between group therapists and addiction specialists. This event will be a springboard for additional workshops in the near future, and it’s always humbling to see the dedication to addiction recovery and groupwork that was present last week.
